MD Comfort: Less Paperwork for Doctors and More Medical Treatment for Patients

An ambitious information system MD Comfort is to help general practitioners to get rid of the unnecessary administration burden and problems concerning the maintenance of IT technology.
Thousands of Czech general practitioners (GP) have to carry out demanding administration to be able to run their medical practices. Instead of offering medical treatment for their patients, they spend a lot of time by doing paperwork and up-keeping their IT system. The other obstacle in GP’s work is communication with health insurance companies that require all their data only in an electronic format.

An ambitious project called MD Comfort has been launched to help GPs to tackle the workload automatically and smooth communication with health insurance companies. "MD Comfort represents an 'all-in-one' IT solution for running GP’s administration electronically. Plus doctors do not have to bother with hardware as they can outsource IT technology as well as services such as technical support and data recovery in case of an accident," said project manager Dalibor Podroužek of S&T CZ, a company that participates in key parts of the project.

The MD Comfort project is run under the umbrella of a company MD Access. The system integrator S&T CZ, and its daughter service organisation GCC Services, heavily participate in fulfilling the MD Comfort project in all parts of the Czech Republic .
