S&T CZ realised a "safety brake" for BOSCH

This system monitors how production lines work and can analyse reasons of all pauses in operation. This way both engineers and management have a detailed overview of all shutdowns and idle periods in production. Total investment in this system will return in less than two years interval.
An automatic "policeman" watching over operation of production lines in Bosch Diesel in Jihlava, where different components for diesel systems are made. Also this name could be used for so called safety brake system, which was realised by the local system integrator S&T CZ.

"System is used for monitoring of events happening on production lines in Bosh Diesel in Jihlava, producing components of diesel system. The solution monitors four production lines covering 70 operator workplaces," said Jaroslav Střelka, manager of industrial applications department in S&T CZ.

Operation engineers as well as company management are immediately informed about all production shutdowns. Except of this a mobile portal service may be used for sending messages about an emergency status to selected mobile phones. All operation events are also stored in SQL database. "All captured data may be then in detail analysed and results used for optimisation of the way how the lines work - for example to modify service cycles, provide spare parts in advance or replace operators assigned to lines," explained Střelka.

Real reasons of individual shutdowns of lines and workplaces can be easily recognised this way. "The production becomes much more effective. By our experience the whole investment in such solution will return in less than two years," closed Jaroslav Střelka, manager of industrial applications department in S&T CZ.
