Companies start hiring of IT employees again

The biggest demand for flexible experts, interest in graduates markedly lower

Market slowly revives. Number of applicants for IT jobs is by 13 percent higher than one year ago. The highest demand is for medium-experienced specialists, who are flexible. On the contrary, graduates seek jobs painfully. Interest in developers, consultants and IT administrators prevails. Headhunting in IT area has left off.

Many IT specialists with over-standard salaries felt firsthand a significant drop of demand culminating in the last year. Comparing to 2009, this year’s situation in IT segment is stabilised and companies slowly start again hiring of IT employees. Nevertheless, extreme incomes, special benefits and headhunting are used no longer. This is a result of analysis done by S&T CZ, leading system integrator, and LMC, a company running the biggest Czech job portals – jobs.cz and prace.cz.

“The highest demand is now for programmers and IT specialists having also additional skills like project management, process analysis or testing, or willing and able to learn it quickly. Also IT system’s administrators do not need to be afraid, they will be always necessary, only their effectiveness becomes more important,” says Olga Svobodová, HR Manager in S&T CZ.
